Naked on the Summit of Damavand
"Joey Largent offers his first chapbook collection of poetry, Naked on the Summit of Damavand, comprised of selected poems written between spring 2022 and winter 2025. Primarily written in English, with selected poems in Turkish, Russian, Georgian, and Persian, the collection maps an inner cosmology of landscapes, memories, and evolving spiritual and lived geographies. Music is as deeply woven into the poems as are Joey's own translations of emotionally-winding, at times erotic and burning mysticism. The abstract symbols of distance are traced through examinations of the self, God, nature, the body, and infinity. This collection offers fragments of a map, from Joey's formative years in Arkansas to life in Türkiye and Georgia, and more than sixteen years of recurring dreams of Mount Damavand."
“The first edition was self-published on Joey’s micro-imprint, Dreams of Damavand. Physical copies for the North American pressing [now sold out] were limited to twenty-seven hand-stitched, hand-numbered copies printed in his hometown of Fayetteville, Arkansas. The digital edition is the second edition of the book."
